184 proof of pure craziness ... or manliness

music: Jimmy Eat World - Futures

LONDON (Feb. 27) - A Scottish distillery said Monday it was reviving a centuries-old recipe for whisky so strong that one 17th-century writer feared more than two spoonfuls could be lethal

Risk-taking whisky connoisseurs will have to wait, however - the spirit will not be ready for at least 10 years.

The Bruichladdich distillery on the Isle of Islay, off Scotland's west coast, is producing the quadruple-distilled 184-proof - or 92 percent alcohol - spirit "purely for fun," managing director Mark Reynier said.

Whisky usually is distilled twice and has an alcohol content of between 40 and 63.5 per cent.

Bruichladdich is using a recipe for a spirit known in the Gaelic language as usquebaugh-baul, "perilous water of life."

In 1695, travel writer Martin Martin described it as powerful enough to affect "all members of the body."

"Two spoonfuls of this last liquor is a sufficient dose; if any man should exceed this, it would presently stop his breath, and endanger his life," Martin wrote.

Reynier put Martin's test to the claim and consumed three spoonfuls.

"I can tell you, I had some and it indeed did take my breath away," Reynier said.

Bruichladdich, a small privately owned distillery founded in 1881, plans to make about 5,000 bottles of the whisky, which Reynier estimated would sell for about 400 pounds (US$695, euro590) per case of 12 bottles. Although whisky lovers can place their orders now, the actual spirit will not be delivered for about 10 years.

"You get a better drink if you wait because of the basic oxygenation through the oak barrels," Reynier said.

In the meantime, customers will be able to watch the whisky's progress on the distillery's webcams."

I'm gonna be twenty-one soon.
Sounds like a birthday present that will last a lifetime.

music: Quantice Never Crashed - Lighthouses

So we played our show on Saturday with Quantice and The Broken and some other bands.
The Broken were alright, just really offensive. They made fun of The Pope and Terry Schiavo more than enough.
I feel we played an alright set. We need Joe to learn everything now for ROCKFEST!! WWOOOOO!!!
Quantice played. They had one of the best shows I've seen. They were as-good-if-not-better-than Taking Back Sunday. Their cd is really awesome too.

I'm waiting for my new guitar to come. After spending $700 on it, it better get here quickly.

School's almost over. I'm getting stressed.

I've to register for the next semster soon.
I declared my major as Psychology.
I went to my guidance counselor and said I would like to go into the field of Criminal Psychology. Her response was "Well, I think you have to major in Psychology first. So lets do that." Wait, wait, wait. You THINK?! You don't know for sure but lets do that anyway. I mean its only my future. Getting that fixed.

If I'm not transferring, I'm doing a semster abroad in Disney World. If I'm not doing that, then I'm working on the bands.

Speaking of which, the other is coming along famously.

I wasn't fired, they thought I quit. So, I'm working there next weekend. It's supposed to be nice. Thats when business picks up. If I don't walk home with 80 or more dollars, I leave.

Blah, blah, blah. You don't really care anyway.

Oh, the demo is out. I gotta send it to a few friends who are far away. However, we have a pretty cd cover thanks to Cassie.

So close, but not this time.
You said it yourself, You said it yourself..
If it sounds bitter.. If I sound bitter..

music: Quietus - Never Call Me in a Thunderstorm Again

For all those who have been curious about how the band sounds go to http://www.myspace.com/siquietus
We finished our demo technically. THe douche messed it up a lil bit so we have to take it back to get it fixed.
We have a show on the 20th at Dockstreet at 6.
I would like to see any of you there. It would be super-sweet.

That show on the 19th went awesomely super.
We gained fans.
It's exhilirating.

We tried out for Rockfest at the JCC.
Aside from the sterotypical comments, I think it went well.
I mean we played for a group of roughly 10 people.
I thought it was going to be in front of the wise-counsel.
It was in front of six 12 year olds and a couple 17 year olds.

I don't think you wanna know anymore about my life so thats it.

all you need is love

music: green day - wake me up when september ends

i thrive on love.
all i need in life is love.
im a very affectionate man.
i never meant to grasp the concept of it.
but to merely enjoy the feeling of it

Love is something inexplicable.
it varies from person to person.
for me personally it is when i cannot stop thinking about someone.
or everytime i see someone my heart jumps.
or an embrace is the warmest friendliest safest place to be at that very moment.
time flies when your with the person but its standing still all together.
but more importantly you feel for the person.

when you feel for the person its like when they are sad you are sad.
its the highest form of empathy.
being as that im naturally empathetic im naturally a lover.
i would tend to hope a good one. (not the sexual kind you perv)
im not saying that since im empathetic i can love.
im saying that since im empathetic i believe that i can be a great lover
i also believe that even if one wasnt empathetic they have an ability to still be a great one.
it just depends on if you want to be one.

show. 19th. come. please.

and this time without the suck

music: hot cross

well that sucks. here goes take number two on this entry.

i prayed for snow.
and man did it come.
i was beginning to think it never would.
snow angels and the like to come.
and hot cocoa.

i need a second job.
this isnt cutting it for me.
i guess i'm becoming a workaholic.
just means more money.
but in the end its so i dont have to work in the future.
wierd how it works out..

so we're trying out new singers.
this kid.. i use this term lightly.. came in... andy.
he looked like he was seventeen.
he had good range and all.. but..
he would slur his words together..
like he was unattaching his jaw to swallow a turkey or something.
but he can scream.. but so can al and i..
so we're giving him a second chance..
cause hes 25..
than theres joe midway.
he can sing.
he can definitely sing.

the past's the past.
leave it be.
the only thing you can do from it is to learn from it.
you only have hindsight to look at it with.
a famous man said..
"hindsights a bitch."

theres something to be said for inspiration.
lets give it up for inspiration.

i dont get why people would call you a friend.

ok guys. try it one more time.
and this time without the suck.
